Below you’ll find information from many august personages in the SCA with expertise not only in running events, but also in sharing that skill with others. Some will be my own offerings, many will not. One of the most valuable acts of service we can offer in this organization is sharing our expertise with others who want to develop the same skills.
Likewise, it’s important for our less experienced members to feel like they have the resources and support to learn these skills in a way that suits them. To that end, if you believe I can be of service to you in this way, please do contact me. I am happy to share the things that I do know and work with you to plan an event in whatever capacity you need, and that my other commitments allow.

The Event Steward’s Handbook, by Melchior zum grauen Wolf (mka Kevin Baun)
This is an excellent starting framework for any aspiring Event Steward with solid information and workbook style pages to be completed during the process of event planning. I used this to run my first event, Highland Hearthglow A.S. LIX, and despite decades of event planning outside of the SCA it was an invaluable resource.
This Event Planning Guide from Epy Pengelly, Armiger
Epy has planned many successful events for the Barony of Highland Foorde with increasing success and complexity. While they took no official part in executing Highland Hearthglow A.S. LIX, they played an instrumental role advising me as I planned and organized my first event in the SCA and pointed out countless things that I would not have considered. I am grateful for their mentorship through that process and their exhaustive attention to detail.
